About VGU: The Vietnamese-German University (VGU), accessible at https://vgu.edu.vn/, was established in 2008 through a collaborative effort between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art (HMWK). VGU is dedicated to the German university model, as reflected in its founding principles. These guiding documents not only emphasize the integration of the German university model into Vietnam’s educational landscape but also underscore the university’s role in contributing to the modernization of the country. VGU enjoys substantial support from various influential entities, including the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg (MWK), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the World University Service (WUS), and the VGU consortium. The administrative and academic structure of VGU closely mirrors the German university model. Drawing inspiration from German technical universities, the university’s foundation is built on the seamless integration of research and teaching. Moreover, VGU upholds the principles of German university autonomy, with its founding charter guaranteeing institutional autonomy and academic self-administration. The university also actively seeks collaboration with businesses and industries, fostering partnerships with companies in both Germany and Vietnam. This collaboration serves as a catalyst for technology transfer and innovation.VGU’s main campus, strategically located in Vietnam’s Binh Duong province, sprawls over an impressive 50 hectares, with facilities covering 135,000 square meters. An investment of up to USD 200 million has resulted in the establishment of 71 state-of-the-art technical laboratories, workshops, and 14 cutting-edge computer labs. The university offers a diverse range of educational programs, including 7 Bachelor’s and 11 Master’s degree programs, as well as 4 PhD programs.
